Pathological Hepatocytes (MASH, Esteatotic, Fibrotic…)
BeCytes Biotechnology is dedicated to providing MASLD hepatocytes, sourced directly from diagnosed patients, to advance research and development in this growing epidemic.
MASLD hepatocytes are primary human hepatocytes exposed to conditions that mimic metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD) and its more advanced form, metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).
These cells offer a biologically relevant model for studying this increasingly prevalent liver disease.

What is MASLD?
Metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH) is the advanced form of metabolic dysfunction-associated steatotic liver disease (MASLD). It is characterized by excessive fat accumulation in liver cells, leading to inflammation, hepatocyte ballooning, and hepatic fibrosis. Patients with MASH are at high risk of developing cirrhosis, hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), cardiovascular diseases, and chronic kidney disease.
With MASLD prevalence expected to rise significantly, understanding the pathophysiological mechanisms of this disease is crucial for early detection, prevention, and drug discovery.
MASLD hepatocytes from diagnosed donors provide a valuable tool for studying liver disease progression and potential treatments. In the near future, MASH is anticipated to become one of the leading causes of liver transplantation.
BeCytes Biotechnologies MASLD Hepatocytes Documentation
A certificate of analysis is provided, including data related to the donor’s medical record, as well as the characterization of MASLD hepatocytes, such as the number of cells per vial and post-thaw viability over time. Additionally, MASLD hepatocytes are certified for in-vitro enzyme expression levels.
Features and Benefits
BeCytes Biotechnologies’ Mash Hepatocytes are isolated from single donors and processed the same day to ensure their best performance.
