The most accurate representation of in vivo cellular function and characteristics can be achieved with plateable hepatocytes. BeCytes Biotechnologies cryopreserved human plateable hepatocytes are qualified by their ability to maintain a confluent monolayer (85% confluency) for at least five days. Plateable hepatocytes cells can also be used for suspension studies.
BeCytes Biotechnologies Plateable hepatocytes cells are Cryopreserved primary human hepatocytes (HuHEC). HuHEC are human liver cells that have been isolated from healthy and pathological donor livers and preserved by cryopreservation techniques for later use in research allowing researchers to organize experiments at their convenience.
HuHEC retain important characteristics of liver cells found in the human body, and they serve as valuable tools for a wide range of research applications.

Use filters on the table to find the best lot for your needs. Use the “export option” in the top right corner to export data (it can be exported table by table (excel) or all together (PDF, HTML)). See videos below for further information.
- 3D/Spheroid Qualified: Lot tested positively for 3D culture (Spheroids)
- 24/96 Well Qualified: Plateable in 24/96 well plate
- Days in culture 24w: Keep monolayer and good morphology in 24 well plate under proper condition
Plateable hepatocytes are characterized by their ability to adhere and form a confluent monolayer on culture dishes or plates coated with extracellular matrix proteins like collagen. This adherence property makes them particularly valuable when researchers need a well-differentiated hepatocyte model to study long-term liver functions. They are often employed in assays related to drug metabolism, toxicity testing, and liver-specific disease modeling.
These hepatocytes (Plateable Hepatocytes) are considered the preferred choice for determining the metabolic stability and metabolism of new compounds in development
